Saltworks Announces Commercially Available Osmotically Assisted Reverse Osmosis (OARO) Technology

Saltworks is on a mission to pioneer sustainable water and lithium processing solutions. With that, we are proud to unveil our latest contribution to the field of Osmotically Assisted Reverse Osmosis (OARO).
With a commitment to advancing desalination processes, Saltworks’ OARO is now commercially available, marking a significant leap forward in brine concentration and water recovery from RO systems.
Our OARO solutions can increase brine concentration by up to 80%, offering lower energy and costs vs. evaporators.
Saltworks has innovated around OARO’s limitations by simplifying the system and coupling it with in-house, industry-leading membrane health monitoring and smart self-cleaning technology.
This breakthrough is also facilitated by major RO membrane manufacturers releasing spiral wound thin film composite membranes suitable for OARO applications. Our OARO is positioned to support the booming lithium industry’s need for cost-efficient brine concentration and water recovery at a much larger scale than traditional industrial desalination systems.
